"THE WRATH OF...SPOCK?!".....
//POR GERMÁN ( "NEGRÍSSIMO" ) NUÑEZ / EDUARD ( "ED" ) GARCÍA// 12 MAYO / 13...
( NEGRÍSSIMO ): Acabo de ver "Star Trek Into Darkness".....Hora de un honesto review....Hay un montón de spoilers aquí.
El primer acto fue genial. El director J.J. ABRAMS nos ofrece un prometedor set - up, momentos y personajes agradables; LA MUERTE DE CAPTAIN PIKE fue un buen estímulo emocional para Kirk, pero después de eso, como que a los escritores se les acabo el dilithium y vamos a salir de esto ahora…
El británico Benedict Cumberbatch....es KHAN NOONIEN SINGH...Ok, eso te lo puedo aceptar, pues el actor de "War Horse" ofrece una propuesta interesante sobre el clásico personaje que interpretara Ricardo Montalbán - the one and only "Khan" - PERO, no tenía por qué ser Khan, porque esto acaba de pisar tierra antigua y en efecto, estanca el nuevo y emocionante universo alternativo creado en el reboot - que podría haber estado lleno de enemigos desconocidos y aventuras nuevas....Odio sonar ahora como un intolerante J. J. - HATER PURISTA TREKKIE porque la película ESTUVO BUENA, pero.....hay que mencionar unas cosas...
ADMIRAL MARCUS: Tenía planes con Khan para d3sk0jonar al Klingon Empire, pero qué diablos fue el motivo para que Peter Weller ( a.k.a. "Robocop" ) iniciara una guerra contra los Klingons? Si me lo perdí, favor explicarlo, porque al final no pude ver nada, especialmente cuando se fue toda la sed de sangre y este seguía intentando destruir el Enterprise....Cuál era el freakin´ punto?
KIRK / UHURA / SPOCK: Estos 3 están como si "STAR TREK" - 2009...no hubiese pasado....La relación Uhura / Spock...está como estaba en la película anterior...No developments here...y en cuanto a Kirk?....Muy bien, gracias.
CAROL MARCUS: Poco que ver con la trama, y absolutamente ninguna razón para estar, excepto para lograr que Kirk pusiera una cara de highschool brat viendo una super hot - looking teacher entrar a un salón de clases y let the wet dream start...
SCOTTY: El ingeniero fue sin duda uno de los highlights de la película. Su diatriba borracha sobre cómo Kirk es un idiota era de risa, al igual que su marcha abordo de la nave Vengeance tratando de abrir la escotilla....peeeeerooooo, su dejar de fumar en un principio estaba complétamente fuera de carácter...Aún así, Scotty absolutamente brilló...a diferencia de Bones....y hablando de B...
BONES: No le dieron ni la mitad de lo que había que hacer en esta película....Es más, le dieron con el codo pa´l lado. McCoy es un personaje mucho más interesante que eso, y tiene mucho más que decir aparte los insultos sarcásticos y ocurrencias graciosas. Sí, Bones es un tipo divertido, pero también es el asesor pragmático y compasivo de Kirk.....y si Kirk es el intestino, Spock el cerebro ( Y AQUÍ....QUÉ ES CEREBRO? ), pues Bones es el corazón de Star Trek, no sólo el alivio cómico.....Básicamente el rol de BONES se describe de la siguiente forma: "I´M A DOCTOR, NOT A STARFLEET OFFICER WITH AN INTERESTING PLOT IN THIS MOVIE!!!!!"......
SULU: El único personaje desarrolado en SITD....punto.
SECCIÓN 31: Fue un buen toque, pero no se entró en ella lo suficiente, ni siquiera para aclarar las motivaciones de Admiral Marcus.....Es más, voy a tener que ir a la próxima premiere benéfica disponible, y espero que no estén los medios entrevistando, porque si me preguntan por qué fui a la premiere benéfica mi respuesta será: "ESTOY AQUÍ PARA AVERIGUAR LAS MOTIVACIONES DE ADMIRAL MARCUS!!!!!"....
La última escena era exáctamente la misma que la última escena de la película anterior ( 2009 )....Esto casi fue como los finales de las películas de "Superman" - con Christopher Reeve.....Tampoco sentí esa posibilidad de que una guerra podría comenzar con los Klingons….o que la Enterprise iba a ser destruida, y ni por un segundo pensé que el buen Captain Kirk estaba debídamente muerto ( YES, HE DIES...), sobre todo porque prácticamente nos empujaron como enema la capacidad de curación de Khan, no una......DOS VECES....y esto como foreshadowing de que estas capacidades curativas le servirían a alguien más adelante en la película....
BOTTOM LINE: STID ESTÁ BUENA, PERO me lo mondó par de cosas....Kirk se debió haberse quedado muerto….y cuando Spock grita "KHAAAAAAAAN!!!!", yo como que sentí bochorno ajeno, lo que me lleva al punto de que el guión careció de originalidad: El funcionar como un colectivo de referencias a viejos episodios / películas de Trek no ayuda a STID....porqué se supone que el punto de un universo alterno es hacer algo totalmente nuevo y no un MASH - UP entre "STAR TREK: NEMESIS" ( 2002 ) y "STAR TREK II: WRATH OF KHAN" ( 1982 )....y para la audiencia anglosajona, he aquí un FULL - ENGLISH review...
( ED ): ( IN FULL ENGLISH ) Right off the bat, STID zaps us with the darkest fear of all: THE DEATH OF SPOCK, that potent Trek subject that I can't help associating with the episode of "Seinfeld" in which George Constanza reveals he is actually more moved by Spock's demise than by the death of his own fiancée. The crew are all assembled: Chris Pine is Kirk and Uhura ( Zoe Saldana ) is still in a relationship with Spock, though the affair is naturally subordinate to his male bond with the captain; Sulu ( John Cho ) is there; Simon Pegg plays Scotty with a terrible Scottish accent that is still weirdly. Karl Urban plays grumpy medic Leonard "Bones" McCoy, who cordially dislikes Spock - In times of old, we wondered about a deliberate obscenity in "Are you out of your Vulcan mind?"...In this movie, Bones tells Spock: "Boy, you really are a comfort." - and Kirk gets some love interest with a new scientific officer, Dr Carol Marcus ( Alice Eve ), who just so happens to appear fleetingly in her underwear.....
They begin on an observation mission, investigating a primitive tribe on a jungly planet, but a desperate situation develops from which Spock cannot be rescued without infringing those Starfleet rules for which he is such a stickler. Spock is apparently ready to die. The incident creates tension between him and the captain that colours their entire working relationship as they tackle a new terrifying enemy, the mysterious John Harrison, played by classy british actor Benedict Cumberbatch. This sinister figure causes a massive explosion in London, and then escapes to enemy territory, apparently intent on causing a catastrophic war. But who is John Harrison, and is he working alone?
As the supervillain who is revealed to be KHAN, Cumberbatch really does give it THE FULL BLUE STEEL. As he faces off with Kirk, he does a lot of impassive and charismatic gazing, indicative of infinitesimally amused unconcern.
Well, as the story unfolds, it is revealed to have a connection with the pre - existing Star Trek mythology – that first history that was altered when J. J. Abrams magicked the new version into being. It is, arguably, part of a nerd - myth tendency in the film; I found it intricate and ingenious, though this is how the series may get bogged down....
The dilithium crystals powering the entertainment warp drive are still pretty much undamaged. The movie has power and engine poke, although, I AM A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED by the way people are getting transported these days: with lots of little swirly white lines surrounding them as they disappear and reappear: I prefer the dense, sparkly, particulate shimmering as the bodies faded. A bouquet has to be thrown to Simon Pegg, whose comic timing and energy - and self - evident love for what he's doing - is turning Scotty into a powerhouse character. But above all, Zachary Quinto is enduringly great; his Spock is vulnerable, sensitive, emotionally constricted, but idealistic and heroic as well. The franchise will always have life with him on board.
Overall, the movie is well written and it has a great cast of actors, but to give it a 5 or 4 stars is too much....3 is more likely.....I hope in future installments, they will step it up a little bit more....And for other opinions...
